网上找到的资料显示法国的国际邮政编码为999019，但并未采用。
在实际操作中，从中国大陆邮寄到国外（包括法国）的国际邮件，只需要在信封上用中文写上是邮寄到法国的（还要附上详细城市、地址），可以不用填写法国邮政编码999019，也一样可以递送到法国，在本站向邮局的11185电话咨询中也证实向国外邮寄信件、物品不需要填写999019。
为了便于在法国内部的递送，需要用法国当地使用的语言来写清详细地址，最好填写上当地的法国邮编以便让法国的邮局分发、邮递员递送。

00用于军事机构，20用于科西嘉岛（现在分为两部分2A和2B），98用于摩纳哥。
另外还有一套CEDEX (Courrier d'Entreprise à Distribution EXceptionnelle)，用于大批邮件。
